Remove EXIF and GPS from photos
Hidden metadata can reveal where a picture was taken. Here is how to remove it without a desktop app.
EXIF blocks store camera model, timestamp, and sometimes GPS coordinates. Marketplaces, journalists, and parents posting school photos often strip this data first.
What gets removed
- GPS latitude and longitude
- Device and lens serial fields
- Software editing history tags
Orientation is usually kept so the image still displays upright. Use Remove EXIF from JPG or compress in the same pass if the portal also caps KB.
